Ghana has marked the 13th anniversary of the passing of former President John Evans Atta Mills with a series of commemorative events, lectures, and tributes.
Political leaders, including President John Dramani Mahama and former Electoral Commission Chair Charlotte Osei, have called on Ghanaians to emulate Mills’ values of humility, integrity, and selfless leadership. The late president is widely praised for laying the foundation for Ghana’s ongoing development agenda and for his peaceful, unifying approach to governance. Calls have also been made to restore and maintain memorials in his honor, such as the Atta Mills Presidential Library.
Speakers emphasized that the best way to honor Mills’ memory is through ethical leadership and a renewed commitment to national unity.
