Ghana has marked the 13th anniversary of the passing of former President John Evans Atta Mills with commemorative lectures, tributes, and calls to uphold his values of integrity, humility, and peace.
Political leaders, including President John Dramani Mahama and former Electoral Commission Chair Charlotte Osei, praised Mills’ selfless leadership and urged Ghanaians to emulate his ethical standards. The late president’s legacy was credited with inspiring current national agendas and fostering unity within the country’s political landscape. There were also renewed commitments to restore the Atta Mills Presidential Library and to address issues Mills would have opposed, such as illegal mining and divisive politics.
The commemorations emphasized that true honor for Mills lies in living by his principles, not just in ceremonial remembrance.
